Cybersecurity

Demand for cybersecurity professionals in the U.S. became more apparent as there were 302,000 cybersecurity professionals needed between April 2017 and March 2018, according to Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).

IT certification seems to be a good solution for the shortage since most positions require special credentials for candidates. An industry certificate also helps professionals to ask for a higher salary, which employers are likely willing to provide due to the lack of qualified and skilled workers.

Demand for Security

Washington, D.C., accounted for the highest need for cybersecurity experts with 43,200 vacancies in a 12-month period. New York followed with almost 20,000 job openings, while there were more than 11,000 listings in Chicago.

If you’re looking for a cybersecurity job, these places have a higher concentration of vacancies than most regions that indicates higher chances of landing a role. Aspiring cybersecurity professionals shouldn’t be the only ones to pursue certification to enhance their credentials, as there are other types of accreditation such as the CompTIA Network+.

A practice test you can get from firms such as certblaster.com is important for examinees regardless of their preferred certificate.

Security Test

The Network+ certification can serve as your ticket to be familiar with more specialized certifications, including the CompTIA Security+. Applicants usually take the SY0-401 and SY0-501 exam to gain certification, although there would be some changes.

The English version of the SY0-401 test would no longer be available by August, so you should consider the newer SY0-501 exam. CompTIA launched this version in late October 2017. It is available in English, Japanese, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese.

The new exam also has 37 objectives, which is four more than the SY0-401 test.

Conclusion

IT certification examinees can improve their chances of success by taking practice tests and signing up for training programs. A career in cybersecurity can be financially rewarding, but it requires extensive preparation.
